I love the MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) theme for next year; they released it yesterday: Free Indeed.
What are you looking for? What am I looking for? Do we need more in our lives – time, hope, energy, friendship? Or do we need less – clutter, stress, commitments?
These are questions I’ve been pondering. I know freedom is going to resonate with moms everywhere and I can’t wait to see the materials, etc. that the MOPS leadership team develops. Just a few days ago I pulled out my Starry Eyed (this year’s theme) devotional book that I haven’t finished and was grateful for the passion and prayer that clearly went into it, because just a few pages was a fresh breath to my lonely (at that moment) soul.
I really love the Starry Eyed theme, I’m not done with it. Reading the theme release they wrote a year ago is giving me chills:
“When we reflect back over our lives, this year is going to stand out. It will be the year that we decided to live fully by both sunlight and moonlight…When was the last time you felt fully alive? The last time you were so swept up with wonder that it took your breath away? That kindness made you feel powerful? Or audacious hope unraveled fear? This is the year to experience all of it.”
For those of you in MOPS, let’s dig in to Wonder, Hope and Kindness and prepare our hearts to move into the next season and really dig into the idea of Freedom:
“What do you long for? What is the thing that your heart craves? Is it possible that your deepest desire is to be free? Free from worry…from feeling stuck…from a heaviness you can’t put your finger on….this year, we choose wild, unexpected freedom; the kind that brings more laughter and less worry, more contentment and less hustle. Freedom that is so contagious, the people around us are compelled toward their own liberation.”
Next year we will Let Love be the Loudest Voice, Be Gutsy, and Go First. Read more on their Free Indeed post.
I do feel like the Starry Eyed theme and this year will always have a special place in my heart. When I look back this year is going to stand out for me personally, and this theme is close to my personal mission and vision. Watch for a post soon where I will reflect on that a bit.
